S3 Special: Current Crimes, When Care becomes Criminal

Roe vs. Wade was decided by the Supreme Court in 1973 and ruled that women had a right to abortion under the 14th amendment of the constitution. On June 24th, 2022, that decision was overturned, and now the power is left to the states.

This episode provides a history of Roe, examples of pregnant people who have experienced legal trauma under state statutes, and the astrology of the SCOTUS decision.

S3E1: The Menendez Murders

Jose Menendez moved from Cuba to the United States in the late 1950s in pursuit of the American Dream. He moved to Illinois where he met his wife, Kitty, then moved to the East Coast where he began a career in business. Jose and Kitty raised two boys, Lyle and Erik, and moved their family out to Beverly Hills when Jose became a Hollywood Exec. But this story of success has a tragic ending. On August 20th, 1989, Jose and Kitty and laying together on their living room couch, watching TV and eating ice cream. Their two boys, Lyle and Erik, enter the living room wielding shotguns, which they use against their parents, killing them both. What possessed two young adults to murder their own parents?
